DICE’s second Battlefield 1 DLC expansion went through extensive testing but In the Name of the Tsar problems are plaguing Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows users.
Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar is finally live for Premium Pass holders and it delivers new weapons, a new game mode, new vehicles, and new ranks. The DLC arrived alongside a base game update that’s a mandatory download for all Battlefield 1 players, not just those who own the game’s Premium Pass.
The In the Name of the Tsar patch delivers the DLC’s content and bug fixes for lingering problems including an issue with the They Shall Not Pass DLC’s Fort Vaux map. The new DLC and the new base game update are also causing some problems of their own.
The smoke from the release is starting to settle and we’re hearing and seeing complaints about In the Name of the Tsar problems. The current list includes small bugs, download problems, and some performance issues.
With those in mind we want to go over the most important things to know about these Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar problems.
This walkthrough will take you through the early issues impacting the DLC, some potential fixes for those issues, and a few other things to know as we push into September.
In the Name of the Tsar Problems
PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC users are starting to report In the Name of the Tsar problems.
Early issues include slow download speeds, problems launching the DLC, issues connecting to games, FPS drops, crashes, lag, Codexes failing to unlock, glitches, problems with stats, black screens, and freezes and lockups.
The DLC is just a few hours old and we expect the list of In the Name of the Tsar problems to grow as more people download the content. DICE will release In the Name of the Tsar as a standalone expansion on September 19th.
If you hate dealing with bugs and problems, particularly connectivity issues, we recommend waiting a few hours or a day or two for some of these initial hiccups to subside.
How to Report In the Name of the Tsar Problems
If you do run into a problem with the DLC (or any other part of the game) you’ll want to report the issue so that DICE’s engineers can get to work on a fix.
How to Fix In the Name of the Tsar Problems
While some of In the Name of the Tsar’s problems will require official fixes from DICE, others can be fixed from your couch or computer chair. Let’s start with a few fixes for common DLC problems.
If you can’t get In the Name of the Tsar to launch on your PlayStation 4, you might need to restore your license. That link will help you do that.
If you’re playing on an Xbox One and you can’t get the DLC to launch properly, you might need to delete and re-download the content.
If you’re dealing with performance issues (crashes, black screens, etc) you’ll want to check out our list of fixes for common Battlefield 1 problems. You might find what you’re looking for there.
How to Track In the Name of the Tsar Problems
If you’ve reported a problem or you simply want to track the current list of In the Name of the Tsar problems, you can do so via the Battlefield 1 Bug Tracker.
This tracker shows you the bugs DICE has on its plate. As you can see, numerous bugs popped up on September 5th, the DLC’s release date for Premium Pass holders.
We’ll continue to see new bugs posted on the tracker so keep an eye out as we push toward the next patch.
What’s Next from DICE
In the Name of the Tsar arrived inside a base game update with bug fixes and tweaks which means we might not see official bug fixes for the DLC’s problems in September.
The company’s confirmed an October update for Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC. The company is calling it the “Operation Campaigns Update.”
The company hasn’t announced a change log but we’d expect it to come with bug fixes for In the Name of the Tsar bugs and problems.
Look for the update to make an appearance on the Battlefield 1 CTE ahead of its official release.
