Here's the deal -- the Moto G5 Plus is still a great little phone for the price. You can get it right now for around $229, or even under $200 if you buy it from Amazon with the special offer (ads) on the screen. It's nearly a year old though, and will only get software updates for a few more months from Motorola. It'll also be even cheaper once the Moto G6 gets released. 

So, when can you get the Moto G6? Well, we're not 100% sure yet but most likely before the end of May. Motorola recently unveiled the phone and said it's coming "this Spring" but most of its phones arrive in May or the first week of June. 

Basically, you only have a few weeks (at the most) to wait before the Moto G6 gets released. When it arrives, you'll be able to get it for $249. That's just $20 more than the Moto G5 Plus for a phone with a bigger screen, dual cameras, a fingerprint scanner, face ID unlock, and the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. You'll enjoy both of these phones, but it almost makes no sense to get the G5 Plus when the G6 is almost here.
