The new Moto G6 comes with a long and skinny 5.7-inch display similar to the Galaxy S9, a stylish design, dual cameras and an affordable price tag. There are several reasons it’s worth waiting for, and maybe a few reasons you’ll want the G5 Plus instead.

There are multiple excellent Android phones that are available now or coming soon. However, most of those are extremely expensive. Which is why those on a budget are considering Moto’s new phone. Motorola’s G-series is extremely popular due to offering a premium experience without breaking the bank.

These days phones are expensive. Even the upcoming OnePlus 6 will likely cost around $500. Don’t worry though, because you have multiple choices in the budget phone market, like the Moto G.

It’s been five years since the first Moto G arrived, shaking up the budget smartphone market. Since then, Motorola has continued to release excellent smartphones that bridge the gap between high-end and affordable. And that gap is getting smaller each year, especially with the new Moto G6. Not to mention this year you have two G6 models to choose from.

The Moto G6 isn’t just a G5 with a bigger screen either. Motorola added some important changes and improvements throughout. In fact, every aspect of this phone is closer to a high-end experience. So while the Moto G5 Plus is still a decent device with plenty to like, you’ll want to consider getting the company’s latest phone. Here’s everything you need to know about the Moto G6 and how it compares to the Moto G5 Plus.

Moto G6 vs Moto G5 Plus: Display

One of the most important aspects of any smartphone purchase decision is the screen size. That's something that everyone pays close attention to. And even though the Moto G5 Plus is the "plus model" it still only has a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display. It's a nice screen with a high resolution, but it's not very big.

If that's important to you, consider the Moto G6 instead. You'll get a big 5.7-inch 2160 x 1080p Full HD display that's long and skinny like the Galaxy S9 or iPhone X. Motorola is using the new 2:1 aspect ratio and slightly smaller bezels to deliver a big screen in a small package.

In fact, the 5.7-inch 1080p HD Moto G6 is only slightly bigger than the Moto G5 Plus, even though the screen is much bigger. You're getting a half an inch more space to enjoy apps, games, and movies.

Having the same resolution on a smaller screen does mean the Moto G5 Plus might look a little better, but either phone will be great. If you want a smaller phone get the G5 Plus. If you want a big screen, the Moto G6 is for you.
