Samsung reportedly has two brand new flagship Galaxy smartphones planned for 2017. One is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, a successor to the Galaxy Note 7. The company's confirmed an August 23rd launch date which means you only have to wait a few more days for the next big-screened Note to arrive. 

If you've been looking at the Galaxy S6 Edge+ but you aren't sold on the Galaxy S series, it might be worth it to wait for the Galaxy Note 8 to arrive. If only to rule it out.

The other device is the rumored Galaxy S8 Active, a rugged version of the flagship Galaxy S8. If you've been checking out the Galaxy S6 Active, it might be worth it to wait for the Galaxy S8 Active to arrive, again, if only to rule it out.
