If you want to cut down on your Android Oreo download time make sure you keep your device updated with the latest Android software. 

Samsung and its carrier partners continue to roll out monthly software updates to Galaxy Tab models. These updates come with important security updates and they often deliver key bug fixes. 

It's really easy to fall behind. If you do fall behind with these updates, your device's security will suffer and you're probably looking at a much longer Android Oreo download process because you'll need to download the updates you skipped. 

If you aren't sure what software version you're currently running, head into your device's Settings and head into the About section to check the current version. The most recent patch is the March security update

If you aren't running the latest software, head back into the About section and check for a software update. If one is available, you'll be prompted to download it to your tablet.
