HDR Support for Enhanced Color
The Xbox One X brings over a core feature that is very popular on the Xbox One S: HDR support.
HDR is shorthand for high-dynamic range. When paired with a television that also supports HDR, you get greater color contrast. Bright colors are brighter, and shadows are a darker. The result is a more life-like picture. Developers must add support for HDR to their games, and many are already doing so. It’s in NBA 2K18, Forza 7 and Crackdown 3. More games are launching with the technology all the time.
You can’t get HDR on the original Xbox One.
