Clash Royale Update: 7 Changes We Want Next

Since being released one year ago Clash Royale has changed a lot. Multiple Clash Royale updates have added new features, additional troops, a Challenge mode and more. As 2017 continues and the one year anniversary update nears, here’s what we want to see next. Including an “end game” strategy.

The developers at Supercell have been making changes based on feedback for months. The past three months we’ve seen major changes arrive, but the biggest are yet to come. We know a new update is coming in March but that’s just the beginning.

Clash Royale is one of the most balanced and fine-tuned games on the market, but things could be better. From new troops, better balance, and more game modes to make it more exciting. After a year of non-stop battles, some may be looking for something else. Below are some changes we want next in Clash Royale. And a few that may actually be coming.

Every month since being released in March of 2016 we’ve seen updates arrive. Everything from dozens of new cards, legendary troops, game balances, and even a way to get rid of cheaters. Supercell is one of the best developers when it comes to updates. Which means you can bet there will be more in Clash Royale soon.

Tournaments are almost never used and challenges took their place. While they are fun, we’d love to see Tournaments get re-worked once again. A few reports suggest that’s exactly what’s happening with the March 2017 Clash Royale update. Among other things.

In February Supercell fixed some big pain points. They toned down the Executioner, made Elite Barbs less powerful, and returned some lesser used cards to glory by making them stronger than ever before. The result is an ever-changing game where players are always on their heels, and constantly trying to improve.

When it comes to playing Clash Royale it’s all about strategy. Players get the same amount of Elixir to buy troops to attack their enemy, and it’s all about being strategic, fast to react, and keeping track of your Elixir. In the end the goal is to have a good trade-off and out maneuver your opponent and take down a tower or two for the win.

There are multiple ways to win and countless different decks that can be extremely deadly, but we’ve been doing the same thing for a year. Look for new ways to win, at least four exciting new cards, and new game modes to completely shake up the game. Everyone plays different, and each user has unique strengths and weaknesses, as do certain troops. Which what makes the game fun. Not everyone will agree with what’s detailed below, but for the most part they’d be a welcomed edition to Clash Royale. I’d go as far as to say these changes need to happen.

Our slideshow below goes over a few awesome changes, new troops, or features we’d like to see come in the next few Clash Royale updates in 2017. Some have been confirmed, others just rumors. Get ready for a new 2v2 mode called Team Battles, a new spell and much more.

The thought of healing spells or the Healer from Clash of Clans was in this list for a while, but Supercell ruled it out.

However, the next thing we keep seeing comments on are Heroes. The Barbarian King and Archer Queen from Clash of Clans. Obviously something that powerful can't come to Clash Royale, but they could arrive in a different form. If we really will see an "End Game" beyond legendary trophies, facing something like that could be it.

Legendary cards are readily available from chests or the shop, and now we need something else to shake up the gameplay near the top. And while I don't think heroes are the answer, it makes a lot of sense that we could see something like this in the future. There are rumors of at least four new cards being announced in March, none are heroes.

How about adding two or four new "mystical" cards or Heroes that can turn the battle in your favor. Maybe for those above 4000 trophies, or 5000. Who knows. It could easily make things extremely unbalanced, but the developers are good at keeping things on an even keel. Well, most of the time.

Would you be open to the idea of a new class of cards above Legendary? Or just something to radically change how the game is played for high level players. Let us know.
