4 Reasons Not to Pre-Order the iPhone X & 3 Reasons You Should

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are very similar to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but the iPhone X is a much different beast.

The iPhone X design is a lot different than its predecessors in that it doesn't feature the company's iconic home button. Instead of Touch ID, the iPhone X relies on its cameras for security, something the company is called Face ID.

Apple's also touting its Super Retina Display, TrueDepth Camera System, and its new A11 Bionic Chip with Neural Engine. These all sound great on paper, but do you actually need them? And how do they perform outside of the lab?

Unfortunately, you probably won't know until after pre-orders start. We expect the first iPhone X reviews to go live just ahead of the phone's release in November.

The iPhone X is an expensive phone and $1000 is a lot of money to put down on a phone that may or may not be the best phone for you and your needs.

If money is tight or you're on the fence we recommend waiting for iPhone X reviews, long-term feedback from critics and early adopters, and for the device to arrive in-store so you can go hands-on and compare it to the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and others.
