Wait If You Don't Want a Huge Notch

Wait If You Don't Want a Huge Notch

If you don't want a huge notch at the top of your next device, think about waiting for the Galaxy S10.

Many of the top smartphones from 2018 come with a notched display. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max both have notches, so do the Pixel 3 XL and LG G7 ThinQ.

We haven't seen the Galaxy S10 design leak out just yet, but given Samsung's visible campaign against the notch, lack of a notch on both the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9, and the fact that the Galaxy S10 will likely have a fingerprint sensor under the display, we probably won't see a huge notch attached to all of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10. Recent announcements at a conference in China appear to confirm this

Instead, it looks like Samsung's new phones will have a small cutout at the very top of the device. The company will reportedly call it an Infinity-O display.

On top of that, it looks like the Galaxy S10's display hole will be smaller than the hole on the company's new Galaxy A8s.

Samsung has duties. 2019 is presented to them as a challenge and opportunity in equal parts. After insisting two generations with the design in its Galaxy S line, this year it is a face wash that manages to attract the eyes again. In 2018, most already embraced the ‘all screen’, minimizing the presence of edges. And it is something that will not do more than accentuate in 2019.
