The Galaxy Note 9 also comes with some small but extremely useful changes that might just convince you to install the update right away. 

Here are a few of the other notable changes on board the Galaxy Note 9's version of Android 9.0 Pie:

• HEIF images are now supported.
• You can now access Kids Home from the quick panel.
• A new storage analysis tool has been added to My Files to help you monitor your storage usage and save space.
• You can also show or hide items on the My Files Home screen.
• Photo Editor Pro's editing tools have been added to Gallery which means you can now make all of your edits without leaving the app.
• You can now sort your call history by incoming and outgoing calls.
• Your call history now includes up to 2000 entries, up from 500 entries.

Verizon notes a few additional changes in its version of the update including Wi-Fi calling improvements and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). 

Note 9 users that aren't on Verizon's 4G LTE network can now bring the device over and instantly switch to the Verizon network. Simply insert and activate a new Verizon SIM card.
