Don't Install While Traveling or If Your Situation is Fluid

If you're preparing to go on a trip or if you're in the middle of a trip, avoid the iOS 15 beta.

The iOS 15 beta has the potential to cause problems on your phone and that's probably the last thing you want to be dealing with during a fun vacation or an important business trip.

Over the years we've seen travelers complain about apps not working, email breaking, and maps and GPS acting up. That's not ideal if you're on business or you're traveling in a foreign place for the first time.

If you're going to be away from home and away from your backups, we highly recommend waiting until you're back before trying out the beta.

Likewise, if you're still hunkered down at home trying to weather the Coronavirus pandemic, if you're a first responder that uses your phone, or you're unable to spend time on the phone if something goes wrong after the update, you should avoid the iOS 15 beta.

The last thing you probably want to deal with right now is waiting an hour for an update to install, finding help with some Apple Stores closed, or dealing with apps or services that aren't working.

If any of these things concern you, you might want to hold off until we know more about the iOS 15 beta's performance.
