If you want Face ID on your next iPad, you'll have to consider buying an iPad Pro (or waiting for new models) because the iPad Air 3 doesn't have it on board. The 2018 iPad Pros were the first iPads to replace Touch ID with Face ID. which means you can use your face instead of a fingerprint to unlock the device. Face ID is also available on the 2020 iPad Pro models. Face ID is also available on Apple's latest iPhones.
