Use Echo as an Intercom

If your house has a lot of Amazon Echo devices, turn them all into an internet-powered intercom system using Drop In.

Open the Alexa app and change the name of every Echo to match the name of the room it’s in. While in each Echo’s Settings, scroll down to Drop In. Tap Drop In to decide who can drop into that Echo or turn the feature off on that device.

Whenever you’re ready to speak to someone in another room, say “Alexa, drop in” and the name of the room. Your Echo’s light ring will turn green when you’ve successfully connected.
