Best MacBook Pro Car Chargers

Here are the best MacBook Pro car chargers that you can use to charge your 13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Pro in the car. Instead of buying an adapter to plug the wall charger in, we prefer to buy a car charger for the MacBook Pro that plugs into the 12V outlet.

You can’t just use any USB C charger to charge your MacBook Pro. You definitely want one with USB C PD. The PD stands for power delivery, and it means that the charger can deliver more power to your MacBook Pro.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro charger is rated for 61W and the 15-inch MacBook Pro charger is rated for 87W. You want the most power that you can get, but I’ve found that at least 45W of power is enough to keep me going and slowly add power to the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

The Trianium MacBook Pro Charger is a great option that you can get on Amazon with Prime Shipping, which means it will arrive in time for that road trip you forgot to plan ahead for.

Use the USB C port to charge your MacBook Pro or to quick Charge your iPhone or Android phones. The second USB A port lets you also charge a phone at the same time.

The Satechi 72W Type C PD Car Charger features a 60W USB C charger and a 12W USB A port to charge your phone.

This charger offers 15W more power than the Trianium one available on Amazon. This means it can charge your 13-inch MacBook Pro as fast as the standard Apple charger and it will do better at charging your 15-inch MacBook Pro while you are using it in the car. $29.99 at Satechi

These are the best available options right now. RAVPower makes an excellent charger that fits this purpose, but it is out of stock and it’s not clear when it will go back on sale.

Be wary of purchasing super cheap options that claim to charge a MacBook Pro. Most of the time they don’t put out enough power or you may end up blowing a fuse in your car.

Incase Compact Sleeve with BIONIC

The Incase Compact Sleeve with BIONIC is available for the 13-inch MacBook Pro or 16-inch MacBook Pro. This case is made with BIONIC yarn that is a material made from recovered plastic pollution in the marine and coastal environments.

This case looks amazing and offers the right amount of padding to keep your MacBook Pro safe, without adding much bulk. The sleeve zippers work very well and included pull tabs for easy use. A zipper on the outer edge opens to a small space to store chargers and adapters.

I like this case as a standalone option, or as something that I can put in a bag, like the Incase Commuter Backpack with Bionic.
