Schedule the Update If You Need To

If you don't time to sit around checking for new software, but want to install Android Pie ASAP, you can schedule your software updates to install at a particular time.

To set a schedule for your Galaxy Note 8's software updates, turn on your device Settings and tap on Software update.

From there, you can use the scheduling option to set a time for the Android Pie update (once it's available), and other updates, to install on your phone.

If you don't want the installation to interfere with your daily routine you can set the install to a time when you're normally asleep so that when you wake up you'll be on Android Pie.

Telling a novice with phone software that they could downgrade from pie, and how to do it, is a terrible idea. The whole reason for monthly security updates is to keep you safe. If you’re not on the latest update (ie: Pie) then you will be vulnerable to many security problems.
