Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Specs

Specifications don't matter to everyone, but for those that care, it's very important. Both phones are plenty powerful, although we don't have the final specs for the V30 right now. This comes directly from Samsung, while LG's specs are based on rumors.

Each has a few differences you'll want to be aware of as you make a choice.

Galaxy Note 8 Specs

  • 6.3-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Infinity Display
  • Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos 8895 Processor
  • 64/128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM (microSD slot for storage expansion)
  • Android 7.1.2 Nougat (Soon after an update to Android 8.0 “O”)
  • Dual 12 Megapixel Rear f/1.7 aperture cameras, 2X optical zoom
  • 8 Megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3,300 mAh battery with Fast and Wireless Charging
  • Improved S-Pen stylus with vibration motor and new features
  • IP68 Dust and Water Resistance up to 5ft
  • Bixby AI Assistant and dedicated button
  • USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, heart rate sensor, Iris Eye Scanner, fingerprint scanner, more
  • Both rear cameras feature optical image stabilization
  • more

With 6GB of RAM the Note 8 should offer excellent performance and maybe even double as a computer with the DeX desktop expansion dock. Additionally, you'll enjoy the second camera with a 2x optical and 10x digital zoom. LG's cameras do a different trick.

LG V30 Specs

  • 6-inch 2880 x 1440 Quad-HD OLED Display (Curved)
  • Snapdragon 835 Processor with 4GB of RAM
  • 64/128GB storage options, micro-SD slot expansion
  • Android 7.1.2 Nougat or one of the first to Android 8.0
  • Dual 16/13 Megapixel Rear cameras, one features wide-angle photography, f/1.6 aperture
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • 3,300 mAh battery with Fast and Wireless Charging
  • Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • IP68 Dust and Water Resistance up to 5ft
  • 32-bit Quad DAC for improved audio
  • Software-based secondary display
  • USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

One thing to keep in mind is the Quad-DAC for improved audio, the battery size, and how the two cameras offer different features. More on that in a moment, though.
