Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users in the United States, South Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom can try the update and Samsung’s new One UI right now.

The company’s Android 9.0 Pie update is still in development but thanks to leaks, and the Galaxy S9 Pie beta, we know quite a bit about the changes Samsung’s making to the Galaxy Note 9’s software. We also know quite a bit about the company’s plans for the overall release.

While the Galaxy Note 9 will be among the first to Samsung’s new operating system, there are some potential disappointments you need to be aware of as we push toward the end of the year.

Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie Beta

As of right now, the Android Pie beta is limited to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in select regions. That should change soon.

Samsung typically keeps the beta limited to the Galaxy S flagship. This year, that's the Galaxy S9/Galaxy S9+. This year, Samsung is expanding the Galaxy Beta Program to its other flagship.

The Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie beta is confirmed and registration is now open to owners of the unlocked model in the United States.

We don't know if the beta will open up to additional devices in other regions, but you can expect the beta to be somewhat limited.

The Galaxy S9 beta is currently limited to the United States, Germany, South Korea, and the United Kingdom with a few other regions slated to get it later on this year.

Don't expect the Galaxy Note 9 beta to come to every single device in every single country, but those of you who miss out should still be able to try the software ahead of time.
