When you are in combat you will need to cast spells to win a Wizarding Challenge. You need to use Strategic Spells to either take out the enemy or to give your team a boost. 

To use a Strategic Spell, you will need to upgrade your profession with Scrolls, Spell Books, Restricted Section Books or a combination of them. The price of a Strategic Spell varies based on a number of factors. 

You can equip more than one Strategic Spell as you level up. You drag the spell from the bottom of your screen up to use it. You will use Focus resources to activate these before a challenge. 

Your Focus meter goes up as you defeat foes. You can replenish spell energy at inns by obtaining food.
