When you go to pre-order your iPhone XR, Apple (and other retailers) will likely try to sell you on accessories for your new iPhone. 

Most of you will probably want to buy a case to protect your iPhone XR, but you don't need to make that decision during the pre-order process. 

You'll have time to shop around for cases, screen protectors, and other accessories in the weeks after you pre-order. 

Take your time, research accessory makers, go hands-on if you need to, and then decide which accessories are right for your device and your needs.
