Sony confirmed the MLB 15 The Show release for Spring, but that’s not all we know about what is arguably the only baseball game worth buying. Here are 5 things you need to know about the MLB 15 The Show release and MLB 15 The Show features that you’ll see next year.
MLB 15 The Show for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita is the most anticipated baseball game of 2015 after the 2014 edition knocked RBI baseball to the dirt for gamers who want a great baseball simulator. The fact there is no MLB 15 The Show Xbox One release planned is the biggest reason several Gotta Be Mobile team members continually debate buying a PS4, and the series was part of the reason one user left Xbox earlier this year.
It’s still early, but thanks to the recent PlayStation Experience event we know a little bit more about the MLB 15 The Show release date and the game that you’ll want to know while you wait for baseball season to start and for this game to land on your PS4, PS3 or PS Vita.
MLB 15 The Show Release Date
The MLB 15 The Show release date is March 31, 2015. This is about a week before the official MLB Opening Night between the Cardinals and the Cubs and the official opening day ceremonies.
On March 31st the MLB 15 The Show release date lands for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. the PS4 MLB 15 The Show game is $59.99, PS3 is $39.99 and PS Vita is $19.99.

MLB 15 The Show Cover Athlete
Yasiel Puig is the MLB 15 The Show cover athlete, which is exciting news for Dodgers fans, and we’re pretty sure there will be some Giants fans printing out an alternate MLB 15 The Show cover.
Watch a short behind the scenes video below of Puig’s MLB 15 The Show cover photo shoot.
Other MLB stars chimed in after the announcement, offering alternate covers. Yahoo Sports rounded up the best alternates, including a very hairy Andrew McCutchen and even a manager getting in on the action.

MLB 15 The Show Video
Sony released one main MLB 15 The Show video. The short, one-minute MLB 15 The Show trailer below mentions some of the new features and Puig stepping to the plate in Dodger’s stadium to knock one out of the park on a pitch from the Giants. There’s not a lot of information, but if you can’t wait to ply it’s a nice sneak peek at the game.
MLB 15 The Show What’s New
Sony did not announce every new MLB 15 The Show feature, but there are several new features that fans are excited about. One of the biggest is licensed brands and equipment, which add to the realism of MLB 15 The Show. Players also gain year to year saves and there are Legends in MLB 15.
Sony tells gamers to expect better graphics with the MLB 15 The Show release, new gameplay features and an improved online experience. We’ll see more attention on player emotion and personality, which is something we’ve seen in other sports games in 2014.
A listing on GameStop, spotted by Operation Sports identifies other features like, “A new Radio Show, Directional hitting, improved load times, and a completely overhauled Diamond Dynasty mode.” This could mean better commentary while you play MLB 15 The Show next year.
Expect to hear more about the new MLB 15 The Show features and to see gameplay footage as the release draws close.
MLB 15 The Show PS4 vs PS3 Features
It is very likely that the MLB 15 The Show release will deliver different features and gameplay options to the PS4 and the PS3. There is a $20 price difference between the two games, even though many other PS3 games still command a $59.99 price tag.
EA Sports did not offer a price cut for Madden 15 or FIFA 15, even though the older consoles did not gain all features, but it is common for Sony to offer a cheaper PS Vita version with less features. Right now the PS4 and PS3 MLB 15 The Show listings show the same features, but that could change as Sony shares more information.
