NBA 2K18 includes another set of revamped passing and shooting controls to properly balance the game for skilled and casual players.

Sinking a shot in NBA 2K18 takes the player’s badges and character attributes into account. This forces you to only take shots your player can handle. Though, you still need solid timing to sink risky shots. A new feedback system shows you how good your timing was and how much defensive push back you held up against.

NBA 2K18 also addresses some major issues players had with passing. The new physics engine lets the game better predict player movement. Just tapping the pass button sends the ball towards the nearest player. Holding the pass button forces your player to attempt a long pass.
