There are reports that a new Apple Watch will feature microLED screen technology, but this isn't likely coming to the Apple Watch 5. The Economic Daily News reports that Apple is working with manufacturers to bring this new screen tech to the 2020 Apple Watch, or the Apple Watch 6. Kou's latest report backs this up, so if you want it, you need to wait for the 2020 Apple Watch. It's too late in the development cycle for this rumor to be confused with the Apple Watch 5, so expect to see a display similar to the OLED display in the Apple Watch 4. When Apple does switch to microLED it could lead to longer battery life as well as help with freeing up design options for a thinner Apple Watch. | |||||||||||||
