Expect the First Galaxy Android Q Update in Late 2019

Samsung's version of Android Q will likely enter beta testing in September, October or November. We expect beta testing to stretch over several weeks with a final release coming sometime in late 2019.

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 Android Pie beta in November followed by the official release in late December. We could see it use a similar timeline in 2019.

As of right now, we expect the first batch of official Samsung Android Q updates to roll out in October, November, or December weeks after the update lands for devices from other Android OEMs.

There's a chance Samsung speeds things up, but as of right now, this is what you should expect if you own a Galaxy device.

Updated this morning. In text mode can only see avatars, no contact names. Bugs me!

I have 3 devices with Beta 3. Pixel (Gen 1), Essential, and OnePlus 6T. The 6T has tons of problems that the other 2 devices do not exhibit. Fingerprint reader issues, app crashes and problems displaying imported text messages.
