A Matter of Time

When you're nearing the end of a dungeon you might start wondering what it'll look like when you emerge from the darkness. If this mod is released for console, you won't have to wonder anymore. 

A Matter of Time is a simple mod that adds some new widgets to the game's HUD that show the in-game time and the in-game date. And if you decide you want to see the real life time and date in the game, you can enable those too. 

This mod came in handy several times when we were using it on the PC and we're hopeful that it makes its way over to the Xbox One in October.

    You do realize that SkyUI and all the mods that require it (frostfall etc.) need Skyrim Script Extender, which is impossible to install on consoles? I mean, a quick glance at the description would tell you that.

      I think you need to consider who is being the asshole here.

      It needs the extender, and that’s the end of it– it’s why some Fallout 4 mods just won’t work with consoles.

      These articles should do minimal research, and to criticise them for not doing that is not being an ‘asshole’.

        Excuse me William, but I think that you can’t read. The title of the article is “49 Skyrim Mods We Want for PS4 & Xbox One”. It is not “49 Skyrim mods that are compatible with PS4 and XBOX ONE”. So on behalf of everyone who can read, i request you to shut up, and not make dumb comments. Christian is right. If you don’t agree, don’t hate in the comments. There is always a chance that Bethesda might release a software similar to SKSE, but less powerful.

          ofc these mods would be awesome too add but they will never come :) you need too stop defending the guy who called the other guy and asshole cause it makes you look like one. and “Sasayaku Chikage” ofc some mods will work except the ones that don’t use script, he even says that in the artical.

    I would have thought that SKSE being a third party application that requires a seperate launch from the base version of Skyrim would be impossible to replicate on consoles unless they add it as part of the base game which (without consent from silverlock) could present some legal issues. I’m not saying it’s out of the realm of possibility but it’s highly unlikely.

    The only thing that’s ‘dumb’ is your ignorance; any PC mods that are in depth and require extensions of the script of the base game, require SKSE; SKSE on consoles at present is a pipe dream, as we don’t know whether Bethesda has any plans to implement it into the special edition. If not we’re going to be stuck with armor reskins and mods of the base game assets at best. So we won’t be getting any ‘better’ mods anytime soon.

    Are all of you dumb? Console are not aloud script extenders at all, it would breach the console itself. This is put it place so that harmful software is not allowed on the console (of course skse isn’t harmful). A programmer couldn’t do it due to limitations the console has, i’m not saying it’s bad but it’s very slim to none that the xbox one or ps4 will get script extenders. Of course mods that don’t require script extenders are fine to download.

    It seems that some console gamers don’t understand the legalities + .exe script extending difficulties that the console systems are limited by. It is extremely unlikely that Bethesda will somehow surmount all that in order to deliver on the bigger/deeper/better mods.

    Console gamers should understand that it isn’t any kind of ‘hatred/anger’ of them, it is just PCs (and PC software) are by their very nature, FAR more flexible than console systems.

    Now that said, console gamers will be able to use PLENTY of good solid mods that don’t require the script extender….I mean, just for the legendary patch alone = worth it! Plus many of the visual enhancing mods won’t even be necessary now = worth it!

    or they dos not know how skyrim heavy script modding works

    First off the console mods they have showed in the trailer
    is pre made and it’s fake
    Skse is a 3rd party software luncher that modders use to adds or modify the skyrim scripts

    the sony & microsoft consol security & the direct x will never allow a program like that on there hardware and it’s also open the source for console piracy

    the creation kit is really limited to what we can add to the game[the mods that only uses the creation kit can easily be ported to the new game]
    this is the stuff that we can make & port to console
    1-weapons&armors & textures or recoloring
    2-DLCs fully voiced quests[its just a new large land for you to explore that dos not require messing with the in game script]
    3-new followers that uses in generic NPCs voice command
    4-unlocking some NPCs to make them available for marriage or followers
    5-adjusting the damage you do or the enemy’s difficulty
    6-fixes patchs

    I’m pretty sure Bethesda owns the rights to their own game, and since the extender is just that – an extender of their base game – I’m fairly certain they could write it verbatim for the base game and not worry about legal action.

      I dont think its as simple as saying its an extention of our game therefore its ours even though someone else made it plus its something that wouldnt be a focus for them. Thier focus was on adding new graphical features and adding the ability to use mods not give all modding support for consoles. They’re trying to get money for a “remaster” like a lot of other companies are doing for thier older games.

      SKSE is a 3rd party licensed software that uses other 3rd party licand softweres
      and it can only be used from there sites
      and the SKSE team has nothing to do with 0 thing to do with Bethesda
      same with sky-UI the program was created to work with SKSE

      also Bethesda owns the rights to there own games but they dos not own the stuff fans create using programs outside of there creation kit.

    Why need SkyUI on consoles it makes no sense because the menu of skyrim is made for console Play. Also there are a lots of mods that dont need the SKSE and are fun to Play. So no thanks to SKSE for consoles.

    For all those saying that some of those mods need an extended script mod that wouldn’t work on consoles, ever stop and think that Bethesda knows this and has plans to fix that up? Since the game is being recoded and updated to work as a full Nextgen game for the new consoles they are likely putting in code that will allow the working of mods. From what I have seen based on the trailer, they have mods coming that put in a whole lot of content, and looking up via the skyrimnexus for mods a lot of the content that they showed from the mods requires script files that add to the game, however it’d be just like putting in a DLC for the game, they require script mods which are where the game updates come from. So it isn’t impossible.

      Bethesda conformed that its the same skyrim from 5 years softwere upgraded to a 64bit engine
      with ENB&textures
      sorry but Bethesda has 0 clue on modding outside there badly made creation kit
      prof is there Bethesda.lame rushed site and the way its managed&copret rules
      its not mod friendly for the mod creators

      also SKSE is a licensed 3rd party software launcher hack that used 3rd party software to create
      the SKSE team dos not work for Bethesda
      and sky UI team created the sky UI to only work with SKSE

    The “Dynavision” mod is already in the new version of the game. Not sure how you missed that one as it is clearly stated in the reveal trailer…

    So I have a question then.

    Is it likely that there will be any kind of mods that add new weapons, armors, or creatures?
    And what about the improved HUD and menu systems that are FAR superior to the base game. Do those have a chance at being included?

    Or is this whole website just a tease for us poor console gamers who can only gaze upon what we will never have?

    Noob question. All these mods that add/change dialogue (e.g. talking to Tolfdir about him becoming Arch Mage instead of the Dragonborn, more guard dialogue, etc.): does that mean that all that dialogue was already programmed into the game files? Obviously these modders didn’t get the voice actors into a studio… but why would there be such a large amount of unused dialogue?

      we don’t need any voice actors to add dailouge to the game
      using a 3rd party licaned program called voice wave maker
      where you take the sound voice of any NPCs known to man and add text words using the sound wave
      making theme say those words with the exact voices

      skyrim has a tool called Extending dialogue length for the Creation Kit by Eliorim
      which has the voices of all of the skyrim voices for us to edit and expand
      which extend the 80 dialogue limit that the creation kit is limiting
      and then you have Serana Dialogue Edit which also a good tool to adds more dialogues to the game

    no SKSE is not a mod
    its a tool hack made by a 3rd party team that bypass the limits that the creation kit has and make the menu that was made for console easier to use on a PC
    it can never go to console………its technically impossible

    bethesda dos not know anything about SKSE
    prof is FO4
    and tod conformed that skyrim was ported to the xbone to test the FO4 new engine and left it there to collect dust till E3 2016
    its the same game from 5 years ago just with updated texture graphics

    also SKSE team dos not work for bethesda
    they also make script extender for other games that is not bethesda
    if beth hired them then they would say something about it
    which they did not

      First off, you comment on every other comment with the same shit. It IS possible for SKSE to be ported. End of story. Is it likely? No, that is a different story. For it to be ported, Bethesda would have to edit a lot of Skyrim’s coding, which they stated that they are against. Also please learn to spell before you comment next. “dos” and “prof” are not words.

        As a mod creator I’ll be honest with you man, SKSE can not go on consoles. It’s likely not possible, SKSE is in a way a “cd crack” because you can use it to start the game with using the default executable (i.e. the skyrim launcher). It’s third-party software and if it were to go on consoles it would seriously breach Microsoft and Sony’s terms of service if you tried to push it in (which I think is impossible). Is this possible on consoles? No. Well… maybe, perhaps if you mod your console then you might be able to play around with the game files but I doubt it would be very stable. SKSE is its own executable, this means you can’t use your disk to start the game, you have to use the SKSE executable which is not possible on a console at all unless you modify your game files in your console manually on a modded console (I think the correct term is “jail broken”).

        I’m not sure if you can adjust your load order on consoles but if you can not then mod usage on consoles will never work as people want it unless they only want simple things that absolutely can not conflict with each other to cause CTDs (two leather armor mods conflict but won’t crash the game, the most recent downloaded one (which is lower on the load order) will overwrite the upper one). I don’t even know what the term is for that on consoles, maybe CTM (crash to menu)?

        Sorry but console modding is eons behind PC modding due to how many mods exist for PC games (some go back 10 years and more (e.g. SAMP for GTA SA which came out in 2006) and the various communities behind it (Nexus is not the only mod site), that’s just how it is.

    I’d imagine that spells that do not surpass the vanilla’s scripting will also be possible for consoles. Is this a fair assumption? Asking more for the console users out there as i cant help but feel a tiny bit sorry for them, they dont seem enthused in the comments here. Also would changes to the perk system and standing stones and such be possible without skse? I have very minimal modding experience. I mostly just change AI behaviors to seem more alive, create spells and companions, and some quests. Pretty sure every kind of mod i perform can be implemented into consoles

    Just throwing this out here but fallout 4 had some similar mods regarding weapons, armor, graphics, and new content and it works fine in my opinion.

    Console users will definatly be disappointed with this when it comes, yes you’ll be able to mod it but ps4 and Xbox will never have the capability of a pc. With how glitchy it is id really be afraid to mod it without being able to use any kind of debug tools anyway lol

    SKSE allows mods to directly edit the code of the game – This is why we won’t EVER see script extender on xbone or ps4, as there are rules and regulations set by microsoft and sony about software that is allowed to directly edit the code of a game or the software of the console – The reason this was set was to stop anysort of jailbreak or such getting released

    I would like to see some adult content mods. If witcher wild hunt can add adult content…why not adult content for Skyrim? It can be done tastefully like in Witcher wild hunt….also divorcing should be a option that is easily available
    and usable…along with be ability to add our own conversation into both toons…can make for some interesting and possibly funny u-tube stuff?
