The PS4 isn’t just a great way to experience today’s latest games. It’s also a way to enjoy some of your favorite older titles from PlayStation consoles that you got rid of a long time ago.
Backward Compatibility is the general name for programs that let gamers replay titles from older consoles. It’s a big deal because there have been consoles released that require you to keep their predecessors around to keep enjoying your old titles.
Max Payne, Bully, Red Faction, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto 3 are just some of the limited number of PS2 titles that you can purchase through the PlayStation Store for the PS4. These each cost $9.99.
In addition to those, games from the PS3 are available through a PlayStation Now. It offers a huge library of digital titles for as little as $19.99 a month. PlayStation Now requires a high-speed internet connection.
