One of the hardest things to take a photo of with your smartphone, or any camera really, is the stars and moon. You can Google it and find dozens of guides on "How to Take Photos of the Stars on iPhone" or any other phone. It's just a hard thing to do. 

Well, Google wants to not only make it easier but make the results amazing. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have an all-new Astrophotography mode. Yes, a mode built specifically for capturing stars and entire milky ways at night. The photo you see above was actually taken with the Pixel 4, which is mind-blowing. 

Astrophotography on Pixel phones works by capturing multiple long exposures and using software to stitch them together. These can be quick hand-held moments, or you can just prop your phone up on a rock. You don't need a big tripod or anything fancy. Then, Google's Night Sight turns those multiple shots into a stunning photo. 

So not only is night sight better, faster, and just generally amazing, but now it works with the stars. Plus, the first few updates like the December 2019 Pixel 4 update made the camera even better.
