With the Pixel 4 Google decided to ditch the fingerprint scanner completely, in favor of something they think is better, faster, and more natural. We're talking about Face Unlock. A big part of the Pixel 4 is Project Soli. This is basically a radar chip in the top front of the phone, which is why there's a bezel around the screen. There are a few awesome things this chip can do, and we'll mention a few of them in this article. The first one is Face Unlock. Google's new sensors on the front of the device do some amazing things, one being unlocking your phone just by looking at it. The sensors sense when you're about to pick up the phone and turn on the face unlock, so it's ready and waiting. Then, the second it sees your face it'll unlock. It's the fastest unlock method we've seen, and far faster than Apple's Face ID.
