Similar to the LG G5 and G6, the new V30 has what's called an Always-On display. Basically, this is a software feature that leaves a few pixels of the screen turned on 24/7 with helpful information. Allowing you to quickly see the time, date, battery levels, calendars or notifications without turning on the screen.
Studies show we turn on our phones over 140 times a day, mostly just to check the time or notifications. The Always-On display cuts down on all that and saves battery life. And with a new OLED display using the always-on display shouldn't use more than 1% battery throughout an entire 8-hour work day. Meaning this feature is extremely useful and battery friendly. LG added a lot of new options this year too, turning the AOD into an extremely useful tool for owners. |
