Check With IT

If you use your Note 8 for work it might be smart to check in with your IT team (if you have one) before you install the update on your device.

Enterprise problems are extremely common after major Android releases and we'll see plenty of complaints about them as the Oreo release picks up speed.

Checking in with your IT department could provide you with essential feedback about Samsung's Android Oreo update.

If your place of employment doesn't have an IT department, see if you can track down a co-worker with a Galaxy Note 8 and Android Oreo to get their feedback.

If no one has a Galaxy Note 8, you'll want to dig for feedback about a particular app or service online.

Yes, back up any data not stored on the microSD card. Yes, have all your login credentials ready (this is where a password manager like LastPass can be a real lifesaver). And yes, charge your phone. In fact, the upgrade will download, but will not install unless the phone has at least 80% battery charge. And yes, enjoy the new features!
