Make sure you're familiar with all (or most) of the changes on board Samsung's version of Android Oreo before you install it. This way you won't be caught off guard by any of the changes to the user interface and stock apps.

Samsung's version of Android 8.0 Oreo comes with a long list of changes including the company's brand new Experience 9.0 user interface (UI).

Before you dig into Samsung Experience 9.0, we recommend getting familiar with Oreo's base level features. You can do that by taking a look at our Android 8.0 vs. Android 7.0 walkthrough. It outlines the key differences between Oreo and Nougat.

You'll also want to get familiar with the tweaks Samsung's made to its user interface. Some of the changes are big, others are tiny tweaks. They have the potential to delight or annoy you.

To help, we've put together our guide to Samsung's Android Oreo update. You'll also want to take a look at Samsung's own Experience 9.0 UI walkthrough for additional info.

3/10 – hard drive? Who wrote this? There is no such thing as a phone with a hard drive. You are referring to the phone’s internal storage, as opposed to the external storage (microSD card). But there’s no need to confuse your readers by referring to internal storage as a “hard drive”.

Yes, back up any data not stored on the microSD card. Yes, have all your login credentials ready (this is where a password manager like LastPass can be a real lifesaver). And yes, charge your phone. In fact, the upgrade will download, but will not install unless the phone has at least 80% battery charge. And yes, enjoy the new features!
