Don't Install If You're Worried About Problems
If you're having a great experience on Android Oreo and you aren't particularly excited about Android Pie, you might want to wait.
We're seeing a number of complaints about Android Pie issues. Some Note 8 users are complaining about minor bugs, others are dealing with major performance issues.
We're hearing about abnormal amounts of lag, weird battery drain, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi issues, Exchange problems, and issues with other apps and services.
This is normal though we expect complaints to grow as Samsung's roll out expands to other regions around the world.
If you're feeling leery about the move to Pie, wait for more short-term and long-term feedback about your Pie update to emerge.
If you're seeing a lot of negative feedback, it might be a good idea to hang around and wait for Samsung and/or your carrier to deliver additional bug fixes.
We also recommend waiting until you're ready to solve Android Pie problems yourself. We've put together a list of fixes for common Galaxy Note 8 issues and it's a great place to start.
