Android Oreo could have a positive impact on your Nexus 5X's performance.
Google's latest operating system is packed with features and tweaks that could make your Nexus 5X feel like new and help you get a handle on any performance issues plaguing your phone on Nougat. First and foremost, Android Oreo introduces optimizations that could make your phone boot faster and your apps run smoother. The update also includes a new feature called Background Limits which limits the frequency of location updates in the background.
What this means is that Android 8.0 will now limit how often your apps check your location, scan for Wi-Fi, and access data. If you think your Nexus 5X needs a jolt in the performance department, and given its age there's a good chance it might, you might see if Oreo's optimizations help.
