With the screen on you can say, "Ok, Google" to launch the Google search voice controls and ask it nearly anything. Like "text dad.. I'll be home in 20 minutes" navigate to Best Buy, Find the nearest Gas Station and so much more. Google Voice Search has tons of neat features, and you'll figure them out as you go.

Owners even enable these voice controls while the screen is off, by turning on Google Now hotword detection in settings. Go into settings > language and input > Google Voice typing > Ok Google Voice Detection > and use it from any screen even while the phone is off. Then try saying, "Ok Google, Play Twenty One Pilots Ride" and it will instantly start playing the song.
