With Android 7.0 Nougat Google added small bits of information under each option in the settings menu. This was extremely helpful, but they took it a step further in Android 8.0 Oreo.
You can now see (right screenshot) that each option in settings has even more information. As an example, the WiFi settings menu has a small set of information under it that's helpful. You see this settings area has WiFi, mobile, data usage, hotspot. Basically giving users a better understanding of what is where all with a quick glance. Like notification dots, the idea here is a smarter Android experience with more information available quickly by just glancing at the device. Instead of fumbling through settings, you know exactly what to expect and where. And again, the settings menu is now black and white and all the icons were slightly redesigned. It looks good, huh?
