Be Ready to Downgrade

If you run into problems with iOS 11.1 you'll have the option to downgrade to an older version of iOS 11. Apple's closed off iOS 10 which means those of you on iOS 11 are stuck.

If you aren't familiar with the iOS downgrade process, now is a good time to get familiar with it.

When iOS 11.1 arrives, Apple could be signing off on a few versions of iOS 11. That said, these options won't be open forever.

Apple typically closes off older updates soon after it releases a new version. The company won't give you any warning ahead of time. And once the loopholes to these older iOS 11 updates are closed, they're closed forever.

If you've downgraded before, you should be in good shape for iOS 11.1. If you haven't, make sure you get comfortable with the process now so you aren't scrambling if and when you need to drop down.
