Don't Install If Are Worried About macOS Catalina Problems

Even this far into the release cycle, there are macOS Catalina problems. We've seen major issues with the macOS 10.15.4 update, some of which are fixed with macOS 10.15.5. We have a guide on how to fix macOS Catalina problems, but one way to avoid them is to not install Catalina yet.

We don't know if the new update fixes the Mac having a kernel panic after going to sleep, but it is something we will keep an eye on. The macOS 10.15.4 supplemental update brought problems with bricked devices, so we are monitoring this very closely.

So far the biggest macOS 10.15.5 problem is connected to creating new bootable backups. Carbon Copy Cloner outlines this issue and a workaround.  

If you are worried about problems, don't install the macOS 10.15.5 update until you let other people test it. You can then see what happens to other users who install this update first.
