Performance & Battery Life

You'll love the performance and battery life from the Galaxy S8. That's because it's the first smartphone to ship with the powerful new Snapdragon 835 quad-core processor, with 4GB of RAM, and all-day battery life. No other phone in the first few months of 2017 will have that processor, Samsung bought them all. So nothing will match it's performance until far later this year.

Without going into it too much, here's the full spec sheet so you know exactly what to expect throughout.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ Specs

  • 5.8 and 6.2-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Infinity Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos Processor
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 64GB of internal storage and a micro-SD slot for expansion
  • Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung TouchWiz
  • 12 Dualpixel Rear Camera with OIS, phase detection auto-focus, f/1.7 aperture & more
  • 8 megapixel f/1.8 front camera
  • Fingerprint and Iris Scanners
  • IP68 dust & water resistance
  • 3,000 and 3,500 mAh battery with Fast Charge & Fast Wireless Charging
  • Improved Always-On Display
  • Dual stereo speakers
  • Fingerprint scanner on back
  • Samsung Pay, 3.5mm headphone jack (no courage)
  • More

Yes the battery life is the same as the Galaxy S7, and actually a tiny bit smaller than the 3,600 mAh Galaxy S7 Edge. All while using much bigger screens. Don't worry though, because all the technology inside these phones ensure they'll last as long as or longer than last years model.

Combine battery saving features of Android 7.0 Nougat, the more efficient processor, and the most battery friendly AMOLED screen from Samsung, and we're expecting good battery life. Basically these will be powerful and capable phones that should last all day.
