Another thing you might want to do is to simply hold off on downloading Android 11, at least for a few days, until you've seen reports and reviews from other beta testers and developers.

Older devices typically have the most trouble moving to new software. So if you plan on installing Android 11 on a Pixel 2 or the Pixel 3a, we really suggest waiting to see how it goes for others. Especially in terms of performance and battery life on a device as old as the Pixel 2.

Again, this is another reason we recommend waiting for the 2nd or 3rd release, or at least for when Google opens the beta up to the public. That's because once the beta is available to the public Google feels good enough about the software for anyone and everyone to use. That's also when other brands like Sony, Nokia, and OnePlus will let its smartphone owners try Android 11.

Google just released the second beta on March 18th, and it does have a lot of fixes, but you still shouldn't expect a smooth and perfect experience. At least not yet.

Look for useful Android 11 feedback on Google’s Pixel Help ForumsXDA-Developers, and Android forums like Android Central Forums.
