Cleanup Your Phone Storage & Make Room

Unfortunately, this continues to be a problem because Google is stubborn and keeps releasing phones with only 64GB of space, which simply isn't enough these days. Plus, phones from OnePlus and Nokia don't have a ton of space either.

So, if you're running out of space on your Pixel (or Android), you might need to do some cleanup in order to install the Android 11 beta. While the current process requires downloading the update to a PC, future betas will install directly to your phone and they can be upwards of 1.3GB to 2GB in size.

If your Pixel 2 is nearly out of internal storage because you have thousands of photos, videos, downloads, not to mention apps and games, you won't have enough storage to safely download and install the update.

If you're running out of space, go through your device's storage and delete files you no longer need, delete videos after they're safely in the Google Photos cloud, or delete temporary big files like Netflix or YouTube offline playback video files. Do whatever you need to make sure you have room for the Android 11 beta download.
