Don't Wait If You Own or Plan to Buy a Bigger iPhone

If you currently own the iPhone 11 Pro Max or iPhone XS Max, you're planning to buy one in 2021, or if you've bought or plan to buy Apple's new 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, the iPad Mini line shouldn't have that much appeal.

The iPad mini 5 utilizes a 7.9-inch screen, same as previous models. Kuo claims the iPad mini 6's display will make a jump, but we don't expect the size of the design to make a huge leap. Rumors are currently hinting at slimmer bezels.

This isn't surprising because if Apple went any bigger, it would likely cannibalize the 9.7-inch iPad it sells. Go any smaller and the iPad mini starts creeping into iPhone 12 Pro Max/iPhone 11 Pro Max/iPhone XS Max territory.

We've been using the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone XS Max since their respective launches and we don't see any reason why we'd want to pair them with an iPad Mini.

The 6.5-inch screen is perfect for playing games and doing work on the go which of course are two of the primary use cases of ultra-portable tablets like the iPad mini line.

And like the iPad mini line, they've got great battery life, easily enough short trip in the car or long distance air travel while in Airplane Mode.
