Samsung is reportedly working on a new flagship Galaxy Tab S5 tablet. With rumors starting to pickup we want to lead you through some reasons why you should, and maybe shouldn’t, wait for the company’s new tablet to arrive.
If you’re in the hunt for a new tablet in June, you’ve got a lot of options. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S4 is an extremely a solid choice. The flagship was recently upgraded to Android Pie and it’s a lot cheaper than it was when it launched last year.
These devices should be on your radar while you hunt, but you should also take note of Samsung’s rumored Galaxy Tab S5, a new high-end flagship that could arrive later this year.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S5 Rumors
We don’t have the big picture yet, but it sounds like the device could be solid competition for the Galaxy Tab S4 and the iPad series.
According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is currently working on tablets that carry model numbers SM-T860 and SM-T865. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab line typically uses the SM-T8xx standard for its model numbers which means these two could be the new flagships.
Beyond that, we don’t know too much about them. We’ve heard the base model could ditch 64GB of internal storage. We’ve also seen benchmarks hint at a new processor and a ton of RAM. There’s also a good chance the new models run Android Pie instead of Android Q.
While some of you might not want to hold out for Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Tab, others might want to wait for more rumors or for the device itself to arrive.
The Galaxy Tab S5 probably won’t launch in June or July, but we could see the new models launch later this year, perhaps alongside the Galaxy Note 10 in August or September.
With that in mind, here are the best reasons to wait for the Galaxy Tab S5 and the best reasons to go with another tablet.
