Instant apps are cool, but how about Seamless software updates. What is that you ask, and how does it work?
Current Android devices get updates and the process is slow and painful. We have to accept the update, wait for it to download, reboot, apply and optimize. Sometimes you can't use your phone for over 30 minutes.
That is all a thing of the past with seamless updates. Now, like a Google Chromebook updates download and install in the background. This happens while you use the phone and it applies after your next reboot.
No more interruptions and long waits. It will all happen behind the scenes, then just apply the update the next time a user reboots. Google also removed the optimizing step at the end, so after the update, our phones will instantly be ready for use. Instead of rebooting and taking 10-15 minutes to optimize.
This is an optional feature though, and some manufacturers may choose not to include it.
