The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are still excellent phones, but you should think about waiting a few days, weeks, or maybe even a few more months before committing.

Samsung’s flagships from 2016 aren’t getting any younger, but they’re still viable options for those looking for a solid experience at an affordable price.

Now that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ reign as Samsung’s flagships, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge prices have dropped in the United States and regions around the world. The devices should also get bumped from Android Nougat to Android 8.0 Oreo later this year.

There’s a lot to like about the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and the rugged Galaxy S7 Active and they’re probably pretty tempting if you’re looking for a new phone.

While tempting, some of you might be better off waiting to buy the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, or the Galaxy S7 Active. For one, Samsung is rumored to have a new flagship up its sleeve for early 2018 and it might be worth holding out for those announcements to arrive.

If you're in need of a new phone today or sometime in the near future, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are worthy of your consideration.

You don't have to wait for the next Galaxy phone to arrive to take advantage of some solid Galaxy S7 deals. Retailers are already offering significant discounts on the former flagships.

Amazon is typically sells the a 32GB black AT&T Galaxy S7 for less than $400. If you're fine with a refurbished model, the retailer often sells a refurbished Verizon Galaxy S7 for $300. Those are just two examples and you might be able to find a cheaper Galaxy S7 elsewhere. 

If you don't need the latest specs and you don't want to pay a ton of money for a great device, make sure the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are on your radar. 

We could see some better deals emerge as we push into 2018, but there are some excellent deals out there right now.
