Bug Fixes (And Security Patches)

Milestone upgrades typically deliver a nice list of bug fixes and we expect the iOS 11.1 update to bring bug fixes for iOS 11 problems.

iPhone and iPad users testing the iOS 11.1 beta have unearthed several potential bug fixes for iPhone and iPad users.

iOS 11.1 beta testers are keeping a running list of fixes on the MacRumors forums and the list includes several gems:

- Swiping from the top of the Lock screen no longer brings the clock and date up.

- Removed the extra empty line between Game Center and 3rd party apps in the Settings app.

- Indicator for wireless headphones such as AirPods now appropriately stays blue when connected. In 11.0.1 the blue indicator and source (for example, "iPhone" or "John's Airpods") would alternate initially.

- Now Playing widget shows correct album art when Smart Invert is on.

The iOS 11.1 update will also fix a serious Wi-Fi vulnerability called KRACK.

KRACK stands for Key Reinstallation Attack and it’s an exploit that targets the common WPA2 encryption protocol.

We expect the list of bug fixes to grow as the beta progresses and we wouldn't be surprised if Apple tacks on additional bug fixes to the final iOS 11.1 release.

We also expect the iOS 11.1 update to deliver security patches. The company's iOS 11.0.1 and iOS 11.0.2 updates didn't come with any.
