Open Apps with Siri

Siri can do all kinds of things on your iPad, but one of the most useful is opening up an app so that you can use it.  If you hate swiping through your cluttered home screen to find particular apps, you can use Siri to quickly open any app.

All you have to do is press and hold the home button, or say "Hey Siri" and then say, "Open app name." On newer iPad Pros that don't have a home button, you can simply press and hold the power button located on the top-right edge. The iPad Pro needs to be unlocked before launching apps with Siri.

Siri doesn't let you take a lot of in-app actions, but at least you can say, "Siri open Spotify" and be one tap away from hearing your music.

You can also create Siri Shortcuts that allow you to create specific actions inside apps and across apps when you set them up yourself or when you find a shortcut that someone else has created. Check out the Siri Shortcuts app on your iPad to get started.
