Listen to Dolby Atmos

Apple is finally adding in support for Dolby Atmos this fall with tvOS 12. This will come as a free update this fall and if you have a compatible sound system, you can listen to sound that comes at you from every angle.

Dolby Atmos is like 5.1 surround sound, but on steroids. Instead of just hearing sound behind you, Atmos includes sound above you and really opens up the soundstage.

Look out for Dolby Atmos soundbars and sound systems on sale during Black Friday.

Didn’t like this article. From 19 things, 10+ were about the same…

I buy iTunes content on my iMac and then stream to the AppleTV via our ethernet router. I’ve never noticed any lag or need for buffering. However, if I’m just renting a movie, I’ll do it on the AppleTV using the same router. I do see buffering at that point, but I doubt that a bigger HDD is going to make any difference.
