While consumer interest has recently shifted in favor of slates, Gigabyte still has convertible tablet lovers covered with its latest Booktop T1132N. Unfortunately, though, pricing isn’t available at this time, but the T1132N should prove to be a portable, productive chameleon tablet that can change form factors depending on how you want to use your [...]
In a case of mistaken identity, Motorola’s tablet evolution ads may be advertising its Xoom as the Eee Pad Transformer. In its early ad campaign on television, Microsoft shows a young businessman folding down a tablet, breaking down the form factor, to fold into the Xoom tablet. Does the Xoom do that in real life? [...]
Not to be outdone by Asus with its newly announced Padfone device at the Computex trade show in Taiwan, ECS and ICE Computer have joined together to show off a prototype of the same hybrid convertible form factor that will convert an ordinary iPhone 4 iOS smartphone into an iPhone 4-powered tablet akin to an [...]
We had last glimpsed the Lenovo LePad tablet at CES where the device came with a unique U1 dock that turns the Android Honeycomb tablet into a Windows 7, Intel Core i5-powered laptop, and now there is speculation that the LePad will launch outside of China under Lenovo’s consumer-centric IdeaPad moniker as the IdeaPad Tablet [...]

While convertible tablets have been a mainstay of Microsoft’s Tablet PC platform, more recently manufacturers like Dell have taken the from factor and added a fresh new “twist,” as evident in the Dell Inspiron Duo. Now, it looks like Apple’s adding its own twist to the form factor with a recent patent filing dubbed “Application [...]
Digitimes reports that Gigabyte is rolling out a new convertible notebook with 11.6-inch touchscreen. But questions arise as to whether it is actually new or a rename. Also, a more “iPad-like” tablet is in the works.
The Dell Inspiron Duo made quite a splash at IDF 2010 when it debuted on stage on Tuesday. Yesterday the Inspiron Duo made another appearance, this time at Intel’s App Up Elements conference. I didn’t get a chance to see it in person since I was speaking on a couple of panels, but some of [...]
Dell introduced the Inspiron Duo, a slate device that at first glance looks a heck of a lot like every other 10-inch tablet out there. Like Dell tiny 5-inch tablet, the Inspiron Duo is bright red. The audience here at IDF didn’t seem all that thrilled about yet another slate device, until the Dell rep [...]

I got a chance to play with the Viliv S10 Blade at IDF 2009 and shot a quick hands-on video. It has a high-resolution 10″ resistive touch screen, up to 64GB SSD and a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor. Perhaps the most impressive thing about this is the 10-hour claimed battery life with the standard battery. [...]
Word from jkkmobile this morning about a new convertible netbook, the Kohjinsha EX6, was both welcomed and puzzling. Welcomed in that we always love to know about new mobile computers, particularly when they’re sporting touchscreens.
