By  |  11 Comments

Apple’s WWDC 2012 Keynote will kick off at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco at 10 AM Pacific / 1PM Eastern, during which Tim Cook will announce iOS 6, new features for the iPhone and iPad and likely new MacBook Pro models.

UPDATE: How to Watch iOS 7 Announcement Live - June 10th 2013

Apple normally provides live streams of product announcements and events, but it doesn’t look like there will be an official live stream of the WWDC 2012 Keynote from Apple. It is unlikely that Apple will stream the keynote, thanks to the $1,599 ticket prices developers pay, but they could relent thanks to the enhanced interest in iOS 6 and the iPhone and short supply of tickets which pushed prices up to $5,000.

While Apple will not likely provide a live stream of WWDC 2012, they will publish the video to Apple.com and to Youtube within hours of the event. Here’s Last year’s WWDC Keynote.

GottaBeMobile will be covering the event as it happens, but if you want the WWDC news as it breaks, here’s how to watch the iOS 6 announcement live.

Watch the iOS 6 WWDC 2012 Event Live in Video

The first place to check is Apple.com. If Apple surprises us with a live stream of WWDC 2012 it will likely show up here, but you’ll need a Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to watch the stream.

If Apple fails to deliver a Live Stream, Twit is the next best place. Leo Laporte’s web video show will be covering the WWDC Keynote while Apple announces iOS 6 and the iOS 6 beta. The show is followed by the MacBreak Weekly team at 11 AM eastern.

We suggest Twit because in addition to telling you what’s happening at WWDC 2012, the Twit team has a dedicated groups browsing live steaming sites for ‘pirate’video feeds streamed live from the Moscone Center.

If you want to go looking for a live stream of the WWDC 2012 keynote during the event, check out Justin.TV and Ustream.TV. If any developer brings a camera into the event to stream, these are the site’s we’ll see it show up on. If you find a live stream of WWDC 2012 send a message on Twitter.

Apple only allows the stream to go to Apple-devices. They do a version check in the browser to determine if you are running OS X or Mobile Safari before you can view the stream.

I think that the apple website is down because of huge data streaming issues. If they wanted to update it for their products they could do it without displaying this page through a test server. It is possible they are attempting to show it and the crash is another indication of such an offering. I am really hoping to see an updated iMac at the keynote as well as the release of iOS 6.

I loved the coverage guys! Watching everyone scurry to keep a feed going was a riot and having differing opinions from full on mac devotee/idiot to an extremely unbiased reviewer/commenter was much better than I expected!!!
