Already available in Fujitsu’s home market of Japan, the outfit was showing off its waterproof Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show in an effort to gauge enthusiasm and interest as Fujitsu is hoping to crack the U.S. market. The phone has a waterproof coating, which Fujitsu had demonstrated by dunking the phone [...]

Fujitsu made a splash at CES 2012 with their new Arrows line of tablets and smartphones. You can submerge the Fujitsu Arrows Waterproof Android Smartphone under water for up to 30 minutes at about 5 feet deep. So if your phone slips out of the pocket into a puddle or the stall as you … [...]

The Fujitsu Arrows Waterproof Android Tablet has one primary differentiator – you can dunk it in your pool and it won’t fritz out! The folks at the Fujitsu booth demoed this by submerging the tablet in a bowl of water and it kept running. You won’t go deep-sea diving or to the bottom for the [...]

Stall surfing. If you follow me, the resident GBM Stall Surfing guru, you’ll know that this is the “marketing reason that shall not be mentioned” for Tablets. We all know that. Reading, using a Tablet, in the “library” is one of the main reasons Tablets exist. Well, it looks like Fujitsu is trying to flush [...]

There is now at least one rugged Android smartphone on every major U.S. carrier today for those who are clumsy with their phones or work in harsh environments, and now we’re beginning to see rugged tablets hit the market. The first of which may be a 10-inch Honeycomb slate from Fujitsu with a model Arrow [...]

We are eagerly awaiting Windows Phone 7 Mango, also known as a Windows Phone 7.5, for a few months, and it looks like the wait is now over. We had pegged the Windows Phone 7 Mango release date at September 1st, which still looks like the most likely official announcement date despite Microsoft’s denial, but Fujitsu has just [...]

At a special event in Japan, Toshiba-Fujitsu had announced the IS12T smartphone, which will be the world’s first Windows Phone 7 device to ship with Microsoft’s Mango software update out of the box. The smartphone will be available in September and will boast some neat and innovative features that will set the device ahead of [...]

Despite Microsoft’s newly formed high profile relationship with Finnish phone-maker Nokia, it appears that Fujitsu will be the one to debut Windows Phone 7 on its newly minted hardware. Since Microsoft’s Worldwide Partners Conference in Los Angeles, California, the Fujitsu-made magenta hued smartphone with its waterproof coating has attracted a fair amount of attention, and [...]

With manufacturers licensing both Windows Phone 7 and Android operating systems for use on their devices, we’re beginning to see a small bevy of handsets share the same or similar hardware designs for both OSes and Fujitsu is the latest to recycle its hardware designs while simultaneously supporting dual platforms. In the past, we’ve seen the HTC [...]

After having shown off an un-released Fujitsu Windows Phone 7 handset alongside three other devices running the Mango software update for the platform, eager hopefuls have begun to analyze and dissect the phone to uncover a few tidbits. The waterproof front smartphone, shown in a rubbery magenta shell, is said to possess a relatively smaller [...]

Today at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Redmond rather unexpectedly showed off four Mango powered devices including hardware from Samsung, Fujitsu, Acer and ZTE. The ZTE and Acer handsets both appear to be mid-level devices at the very most and the Fujitsu device’s main draw is going to be its waterproof capabilities. The standout of [...]

Fujitsu’s TH40, the company’s answer to the Samsung Slider 7 shown at CES, is now postponed indefinitely without much explanations. The company is only citing development delays as the cause of the problem, but it’s unclear what these delays entail. The Fujitsu TH40 is another form factor for a netvertible with a tablet touchscreen on [...]

Fujitsu announced today that the Stylistic Q550 Slate PC is now shipping. Starting at just $729, the Fujitsu tablet is an affordable tablet designed for businesses that need to run full Windows apps. The Stylistic Q550 slate is quite different from the Apple iPad, BlackBerry PlayBook and Android Honeycomb tablets. The first and most important [...]

I had the opportunity to speak with Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product management for Fujitsu America (this guy), regarding the Stylistic Q550 slate due to start shipping June 3rd. Given the wealth of information already released about this Windows 7 tablet, I figured there wasn’t much new to cover, but I learned more [...]

Yesterday, Fujitsu announced the follow-up to their T900 convertible, the Lifebook T901 Tablet PC. While it is a straightforward spec-bump in many respects, there are a few notable changes, including five-finger gesture support and optional NVIDIA Optimus graphics.

Word out of IDG News is that Fujitsu will launch their new Stylistic Q550 at Germany’s CeBIT show this year, running the first week of March. This should be a welcomed return for many long-time Tablet PC fans who lamented the gradual decline of this line of slates. And for those who don’t know their [...]

At Mobile World Congress, Fujitsu showed off two dual-screen phone concepts, that can be used as a ‘tablet’ with both screens. Interest in dual-screen devices have grown since Sprint had introduced the Kyocera Echo as that class of device not only provides more screen area in a compact form factor when folded into a single [...]

At first glance, the sight of Meinolf Althaus holding a hammer over a slate brings me back to Fujitsu’s earlier claim of “slate-beating”, but it’s all part of a presentation explaining the philosophy that guides their slate-making decisions with the upcoming Stylistic Q550 being the target. Of the lesson, not the beating.

In addition to its robotic teddy bear on display, we did manage to get some hands-on time with the LifeBook T580, which utilizes the more traditional convertible Tablet PC form factor. We were also able to go hands-on with an Intel Oak Trail Windows 7 slate from Fujitsu. Fujitsu T580 Hands-On: Fujitsu Windows 7 Slate:

Fujitsu and N-Trig have a little art demo on YouTube featuring the Lifebook T580 Tablet PC with N-Trig DuoSense digitizer. Special guest star: Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.

Fujitsu brought a teddy bear, a working concept for the company, aimed at keeping the elderly and aging population of Japan company. As a companion device, this teddy bear is more fuzzy and welcoming, with its softer materials, than the harsh metal terminator-style look of Sony’s old Aibo dog. The teddy bear has a number [...]

Though hardly an earth-shaker in terms of CES 2011 news, Fujitsu’s announcement of the Lifebook T901 Tablet PC, a refresh of the T900, has some interesting details snuck in with it, including mention of five-finger multi-touch detection.

I’m trying to eliminate as much paper as possible from my life to get more organized. The ScanSnap S1300 has been instrumental in that endeavor, but it’s not quite as mobile as I’d like and rarely leaves my desk. Enter The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100, a scanner that shares many of the same usability features with [...]

I know at least a couple of you have been waiting patiently for this: The Lifebook T580 Tablet PC is now listed on Fujitsu’s online store with both custom and pre-configured “Express Buy” options.

As I wrong-headedly researched resistive multi-touch screens, I ran across an old announcement by Fujitsu on their offering. By strange coincidence, they followed that up just yesterday with an announcement of their North American debut of these multi-touch panels certified for Windows 7.

Not even halfway through their twelve-week giveaway sweepstakes and Fujitsu is already doubling up on the prizes. Fortunately, it’s another dual-digitizer Tablet PC – the Lifebook T730 – so it’s all good.

Week three of Fujitsu’s 12-week giveaway sweepstakes kicks off today, and it’s a big one – a Lifebook T900 Tablet PC. Same restrictions as before – U.S. adults only.

In the second week of their twelve-week sweepstakes, Fujitsu is handing one lucky U.S. resident of voting age a Lifebook T730 Tablet PC. Children and the rest of the world can stop reading this now.

Fujitsu is at CEATEC 2010 this week showing off some fancy concept designs and prototypes at their booth. Among them are a couple of Windows 7 slates and this dual-screen, dual-configuration phone device, which offers a new twist on the flip phone.

Hey, remember when I said I wanted the Fujitsu Lifebook T900 to be “My Next Tablet PC”? Well, I wasn’t kidding then and I’m even more serious now that I have one as my daily productivity PC.
